Piccaver and Castle tries not enough as Spalding RFC suffer another defeat

Spalding RFC are still looking for their first Midlands Two East (North) win of the season after slipping to a 17-14 home defeat against leaders Loughborough on Saturday.

Ash Piccaver and Adam Castle did score tries in the first half at the Memorial Field as Town led 14-3 at the break.

But James Busby and Stephen Sands touched down for the table-toppers in the second period to clinch the win and leave the Elephants winless after three games.

The defeat keeps Spalding in the bottom two ahead of next Saturday’s trip to Market Bosworth.
