Lincolnshire Police are looking for more volunteers to support its fight against exploitation of certain members of the community by rogue traders, doorstep crime, hate and mate crime, scams (including scam mail and fraud) and financial exploitation.
They have set up Operation REVIVE with the purpose of befriending, supporting, advising, liaising with vulnerable and elderly members of the community who have been identified by local policing teams as being victims of crime or potential victims of crime.
The project supports existing police resources and the work around community engagement and crime prevention.
All volunteers will be trained in the skills they need to support and work with all members of the community. Hours are flexible and can be arranged to fit around the volunteer. Any travel expenses will be covered.
Many volunteers also bring with them some fantastic skills, knowledge and experience which they use to reassure and support anyone who has been a victim of hate crime, mate crime and doorstep crime. Volunteers can make a real difference, raising awareness and preventing further victimisation and offences.
