Charity status is just the Tonic for health and wellbeing hub

A community hub for health and wellbeing in Spalding is looking forward to being able to promote the benefits after being granted charity status.

Tonic Health and its sister company, Spalding Health and Wellbeing Community Interest Company, have been offering complementary therapies alongside exercise and movement classes, and community projects including an after-school healthy eating and exercise club and two different weekly sessions for people with dementia.

More recently, Tonic Health helped organised the first South Holland Health Promotion Day, which also featured the first South Holland Health Awards.

Chairman of the trustees, Michael Morris, said: “The application process took six months of hard work and discussions but was worth every minute, and the team of trustees will ensure that the future of Tonic Health will continue to grow.”

The charity status will allow Tonic Health to apply for further funding to run projects aimed across all sectors of the community, and will benefit residents across South Holland. Funding could create some new positions for employment to run and manage projects.

Tonic Health is based at Broadgate House in Westlode Street. It offers a variety of activities, and also hires out consultation room and meeting room space for individuals, groups and society use.
