Why not enter your front garden into competition?

Sutton Bridge residents have the chance to win a prize for their front garden in a new competition.

Organised by Phil and Anne Scarlett, this is the first year that there has been a Best Front Garden Competition for Sutton Bridge.

Phil and Anne are being supported by Sutton Bridge Parish Council and the competition is sponsored by Silverwood Craft & Garden Centre in Long Sutton.

The competition, which is free, is easy to enter:

Simply pick up an entry form from the Parish Office or the Community Library in the Curlew Centre, Sutton Bridge or from Silverwood Craft & Garden Centre.

Complete the entry form and return it to the Community Library at the Curlew Centre or Silverwood Garden Centre.

You can nominate yourself or a neighbour

Prizes are £50, £25 and £10 gardening gift vouchers for the three best entrants.

And the rules are simple –

The garden must be at the front of the house and visible from the footpath.

The garden must be in Sutton Bridge.

Judging will take place between July 18 and 31.

Winners will be announced on Thursday, August 4 and they will be invited to a presentation at the Silverwood Craft & Garden Centre on Saturday, August 20 at 3pm.

Phil said: “I saw this competition work in Spalding and it created a great pride in the residents to show their gardens.

“I’m delighted that Silverwood Garden Centre have agreed to sponsor the prizes.

“I would ask residents to spruce up their gardens and enter, or if they have a neighbour who puts lots of effort into their garden, why not nominate them?”
