Longest Day Down Challenge for Gosberton motorcyclist

A Spalding volunteer fundraiser is taking on the Longest Day Down Challenge in a bid to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

On the longest day of the year (June 21), Dan Mills, from Gosberton, will attempt to ride from Land’s End to John O’Groats in under 24 hours without using any motorways.

To make the challenge a bit more tricky, he will be riding a motorcycle that costs no more than £300.

The fast jet engineer decided to attempt the challenge as every penny raised goes direct to a very worthy cause.

Dan (42) said: “No-one has completed the challenge on a C90 stepthru, and that’s the bike I have found for under £300!”

Laura Holland, volunteer manager for Cancer Research UK, said: “We are absolutely delighted that Dan has decided to attempt such a great challenge to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

“He has been doing lots of preparation and we’re sure he’ll have an amazing experience.

“We can’t thank Dan enough for all his support and want to wish him all the very best on the day.”
