New chairman at county council

County councillor Martin Trollope-Bellew was elected the new chairman for Lincolnshire County Council, with Coun Andrew Hagues elected as his deputy.
Coun Trollope-Bellew represents Stamford Rural and lives in Barholm.
After serving for 19 years on the county council, including ten years as chief whip, Coun Trollope-Bellew is very much looking forward to his year in office.
He said: “I am particularly interested in the growth of small businesses and during my time as Chairman will help promote the rural economy in all its forms, from farming to leisure and tourism.”
As chairman, he will be supporting his chosen charities, the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance Service and Prostate Cancer UK.
