Michael ‘honoured’ with election for second term as district council chairman

Michael Seymour enjoyed his first stint as South Holland District Council chairman so much that he was happy to be elected into the role again on Wednesday.(May 11)

He was previously chairman for two years from 2011.

Coun Seymour, who lives in Holbeach and is the Conservative ward member for The Saints, said: “It is a great honour and something I’m tremendously looking forward to.
“Having previously been chairman a few years ago I know precisely what I’ll be letting myself in for!

“My diary is already looking a lot busier with invites starting to come in. Last time I enjoyed getting out to various events all over the district, so that’s an aspect of the job I’m looking forward to.”

Coun Rodney Grocock (Conservative member for Moulton, Cowbit and Weston) will continue in his role as vice-chairman for another 12 months.

Coun Seymour said: “I think it helps that Rodney is already in place as vice-chairman and has good experience of the role.

“I’m sure that we can use our combined experience and work well as a partnership.”
