Top 50 place for chip shop

Staff at a popular Spalding chippie are celebrating after making into the country’s top 50.
Oh My Cod, in Alexandra Road, Spalding, have been named as on of the best fish and chip shops in a competition run by Fry Magazine for the second year running.
The contest saw independent “mystery diners” visit each shop to check out front-of-house, staff friendliness, cleanliness, staff knowledge and quality of the food.
Everything was critiqued, from the crispiness of the batter to the size and fluffiness of the chips and flakiness and texture of the fish.
Reece Head, competition organiser, said the bar had been set very high with every shop on the top 50 list scoring over 96 per cent in their mystery diner test.
He added: “There are a lot of different facets to running a fish and chip takeaway and those shops in the list go over and above the everyday requirements to deliver exceptional food matched with an equal level of service and atmosphere.”
Bill Rai, who runs Oh My Cod with his wife Sandy, said: “Wooohooo!! We did it again!!!
“A big thank you to our wonderful staff for keeping the high standards up and all your hard work.”
