Pupils inspired by visit by blind Paralympian

Pupils were inspired to reach for the stars by a visit by Paralympian Roy Turnham.

The footballer, who took part in the Great Britain’s five-a-side team in the 2012 London Paralympics, shared stories about his achievements and youngsters got to meet his guide dog Pudsey when he dropped in at Holbeach Primary Academy.
They heard how visually impared footballers like Roy are able to play using a special ball with a bell inside.
As well as enjoying Roy’s visit, the children also took part in sponsored sports activities raising money towards new PE equipment and supporting other Olympic and Great British athletes.
Headteacher Sue Boor said the pupils had thoroughly enjoyed Roy’s visit and were very inspired by his sporting achievements despite his disability.
