Art group celebrates 100 years

Artist Malcolm Cudmore shared his passion for coloured pencils with members of Spalding Arts and Crafts Society at its April meeting.
Malcolm also gave a demonstration of techniques, showed off some of his work and told members it can take him more than 80 hours to complete a picture.
The group is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year.
It was founded in 1916 at the town’s Johnson Hospital as therapy for wounded servicemen during World War I.
A centenary exhibition is now under way and will continue until May 30 at the Geest Gallery, Ayscoughfee Hall, Spalding.
Admission is free and visitors are being encouraged to participate in the People’s Choice Award by voting for their favourite painting.
