Holbeach United denied as rain causes Wisbech clash to be abandoned

Heavy rainfall at Carter’s Park caused Thursday night’s ChromaSport UCL Premier Division clash between Holbeach United and Wisbech Town to be abandoned at half time.

Holbeach, who were leading 1-0 after a 43rd minute goal from Josh Ford, looked like ending their run of seven league losses on the spin.

Instead, it looks like they’ll have to extend their season to fit the match in.

They host Kirby Muxloe and Saturday (3pm) before taking on Peterborough Sports in the UCL Knockout Cup final at Deeping on Monday (3pm).

No date for the rescheduled Wisbech date has been decided.
