Pepper spray used by police during boxing night disorder

Police were called to a disturbance among guests at a boxing event in Spalding last Saturday (February 20).

Pepper spray was used during the incident at Spalding and District Round Table’s event at Springfields.

A Lincolnshire Police spokesman said officers were called at 11.21pm following a report of disorder.

He added: “A number of people were involved in an affray and PAVA spray was used by an officer. A Taser was drawn but not used on any individuals involved.

“Crowds were then dispersed peacefully and no serious injuries were reported.

“No arrests were made and no complaints were forthcoming from any attendees at the time but a man has since reported that he suffered an injury to his nose.”
