Arrest of 17-year-old driver after woman injured in Spalding incident

The teenaged driver of a car involved in a road traffic collision in Spalding on Saturday was arrested on suspicion of taking a vehicle without consent and dangerous driving.

A woman was injured in the incident in Harveys Close, a residential cul-de-sac off Holbeach Road.
Police are still trying to establish what happened and have appealed for witnesses or anyone with information to get in touch.

The only vehicle thought to be involved was a red Renault Megane.
Police say they were called at 7.20pm.
A spokesman added: “A 17-year-old male has been arrested on suspicion of taking a vehicle without consent and dangerous driving after a woman was injured in an RTC on Harvey’s Close in Spalding.
“Any witnesses, or anyone with information, is asked to call Lincolnshire Police on 101.”

A spokesman for Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue said crews from Spalding and Holbeach were called at 7.59pm and the first was on the scene at about 8.15pm.
Hydraulic cutting equipment was used to free one person from the car.
