Planning applications for large-scale developments ‘illegible’ on council website

Copies of plans for large-scale developments are often not good enough for residents to read, it has been claimed.

Holbeach Parish Council is to ask South Holland District Council to insist that applicants for large-scale projects should provide good quality hard copies.

Holbeach district and parish councillor Paul Foyster told a full district council meeting on October 14 that online versions often become “illegible” when they are enlarged.
He wants to see copies available to be pinned up in parish council offices or other public places.

“If you have a lot of residents upset, it helps an awful lot if you can take them to [see the plans],” he said.

The meeting heard that that large-scale drawings were not now available to view at the district council offices in Spalding.
Council deputy leader Nick Worth promised to look into the situation.
