Still room for more at Long Sutton free lunches

Anyone in need of a hot meal and a friendly chat is invited to join a growing group in Long Sutton.
Over recent years more and more people have being going along to St Mary’s Church Hall on the second Thursday of the month to enjoy a simple meal of soup, bread and butter and cheese followed by a hot homemade pudding and custard, as well as tea and coffee.
The meals are now attended regularly by between 25 and 30 people.
The venture, jointly run by St Mary’s Church and Long Sutton Baptist Church, has been running since 2012 and numbers have steadily grown, but there is still plenty of room for more people.
There is no charge for the meal although donations help towards funding the next meal.
A spokesman said: “We would love to see numbers grow to a hundred plus!”
The next lunches, from 12pm to 1.30pm are on November 12, December 10and January 14.
