£1,000 boosts coffers thanks to charity meal

A charity lunch raised more than £1,000 for Holbeach United Community Sports Academy.

The event, which was held at Chameli Tandoori Restaurant, saw around 60 people attend.

Rafique Miah, who owns the restaurant in St John’s Street, Holbeach, provided a two-course Sunday lunch at Holbeach Community Centre, with all the proceeds going to support the first Holbeach Music and Beer Festival, which ultimately benefited Holbeach United Community Sports Academy.

The lunch was organised by Holbeach man Sean Taylor, who was also the driving force behind the highly successful music and beer festival.

Sean Taylor is pictured receiving a cheque from Yasin, Naser and Yaqub Nazan and Riyan Rahman, on behalf of Chameli Tandoori.
