Kim and Chris singing in the rain after Gendey Hill pairs victory

Some 42 ladies braved the elements to contest Gedney Hill Golf Club’s Ladies’ Pairs Open last week.

The rain was set in for the day, but didn’t dampen the spirits of the players out on the course.

Prizes were up for grabs for players from Gedney Hill and visiting players, while all proceeds from the day are to be donated to the charity PHAB (Physically Handicapped and Able Bodied).

The deadly duo of Kim Markillie and Chris Bennett took the home title, while Bev Hapham and Wendy Revill were the away champions.

Other ladies’ section result: Golden Oldies competition – 1st Kim Markillie 36pts; 2nd Chris Bennett 30pts; 3rd Christine Lord 27pts.

Men’s section result: Gedney Hill Football Club Trophy – 1st Dave Roberts 44; 2nd Paul Purcell 43; 3rd Adam Britton 41.

Seniors’ Section result: John Parson Shield – 1st Neil Sargeant 41pts; 2nd Bill Sharpe 40 (ocb); 3rd Paul Wood 40.
