New song to celebrate Fens

Pinchbeck singer Jeff Woods is presenting Songs for Summer at Crowland Abbey on Sunday (7.30pm).

He has sung for some of Britain’s leading opera companies, on TV and radio and most recently on cruise ships.

Jeff is a published songwriter and has been inspired to write a song for the occasion in order to express his admiration for the Fenlands in which he has recently taken up residence.

He said: “I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to sing in the magnificent Crowland Abbey and I thought it would be nice to raise a bit more for church funds so, the idea of the song My Land, Fenland was born.”

Jeff will premiere the new song during his concert, which will feature songs from musicals, operetta and much more.
