England call for Spalding Indoor Bowling Club star Ruby

Teenage Spalding Indoor Bowls Club member Ruby Hill has been selected as first reserve for the England under-18 team to compete in the Junior Commonwealth Games.

The team, which comprises of one male and one female, will travel to Western Samoa for the games this autumn.

There will be men and women’s singles tournament in Apia, plus a mixed event.

Hill, who is just 15, plays regular outdoor bowls for the Royal Mail Cart club in Spalding and has achieved great success over the past few years.

That has seen her called up to the England under-18 squad, while she was also part of the Spalding side that became national Top Club champions earlier this year.
