LETTER: All issues should be considered

In regard to the proposed building of 900 homes on land in Fen Road and Hallgate.

Although there is a definite need for housing in and around Holbeach, I do feel that nowhere near enough importance is given to the infrastructure needed to support such a large scale development.

Ashley King Developments already has plans for a new development in Holbeach, off Foxes Low Road, of 48 mixed housing, which they state will mean an extra 100 cars on the roads about this estate and town.

It is already becoming increasingly difficult to get through the town, which doesn’t lend itself to any road widening schemes.

Also this number of houses will require extra medical facilities. It is nigh on impossible to get a doctor’s appointment now, without these extra residents. Plus there is no large scale shopping area nearby and would mean all these resident using the A151, A17 etc to get about.

I would like to see a proposal from the council to consider these issues before giving this the go-ahead.
