First day of filming for Hollywood-style movie at town cafe

Cameras rolled in a Long Sutton cafe as filming began on a new movie to bring a slice of Hollywood to South Holland.

Delicious in Market Place was crowded with cast, crew and extras as the team working on feature-length film Dishonoured started work.
The film is the brainchild of actor and director Steph Genovese, who wanted to give talented people in Holbeach and the surrounding area the opportunity to star in a professional big screen movie without the problems and cost of travelling to casting sessions halfway across the country.
The idea has been a popular one, with more than 150 people turning up to a casting session in Holbeach last month, hoping to land themselves a starring role.
As well as the characters in front of the camera, all the talent behind the scenes, including technical roles, music, make-up, costumes and special effects, comes from around South Holland.
Steph, who has appeared on television, including a role in the recent hit series Fortitude, said: “Sunday was our first official day of filming the movie, and we had the best time.
“We had the use of a cafe in Long Sutton, who allowed us to film the initial scenes.
“We had five senior cast members along with eight extras, all from the area who wanted to be in the movie, all of whom did a fantastic job and have all asked to want to come back and do it all again, which is exactly what we wanted to hear.
“On the day itself, we had 16 crew to make the scenes we filmed – and the shots look amazing.”
The cast and crew are now gearing up for a big challenge – filming in a public place.
On June 28, the action moves to Carter’s Park, Holbeach, where around 30 extras, 16 crew, eight supporting artists and four senior cast will be involved in shooting more scenes.
Steph, who has set up Holbeach Film Company, added: “It’s going to be mental organising those scenes in and around the general public – but we like a challenge.”
But before that, Steph is hoping to create a bit of a buzz about the action thriller when a “teaser” for the film is aired in about a week’s time, alongside the launch of Dishonoured’s official website, which will include behind the scenes clips, pictures, cast biographies and blogs.
