An appeal for unwanted baby clothes to help those in need has taken off with plenty of support from the public.
Spalding couple Mark and Sarah Le Sage launched Ella’s Project – named after their 21-month-old daughter and linked with Mark’s charity The Rightside Trust – a few weeks ago and are delighted to see it really taking off.
Mark said: “The project came about because we had a lot of clothes that Ella has grown out of and we wanted to use them to help others.
“Since we launched it back in May we have been really well supported, both by people donating clothes and by businesses offering to be collection points.”
Mark is asking anyone who has washed, unsoiled and usable clothes for children aged up to five years, to donate them to the appeal.
People can take their donations to one of the collection points and from there the clothes will go to the prison service where prisoners will process and box them and send them on for national and international use.
Mark added: “The whole process will take about three weeks and we will soon be ready to send the first lot of clothes to the prison service.”

If any businesses would like to help with the diesel costs of collecting the clothes and getting them to the prison service Mark would be very grateful.
He’s also looking for a collection point in the Crowland area.
