Fayre to light up solar panel bid

A Sutton Bridge Church is reaching for the sun to help it get energy bills down by organising its first ever Gift Fayre.

St Matthew’s Church is fundraising for solar panels in a bid to reduce its energy costs.
This weekend the 1843 building will be the home to a two-day Gift Fayre where a host of local crafters will be on hand selling their wares and raising money for the solar panel appeal.
It’s been organised by Julie-Anne Crofts, of Pandora’s Box Jewellery, who has organised similar events at Fleet Church.
Julie-Anne said: “Not only is it for a good cause, but after all the negative press about Sutton Bridge, it would be a great opportunity to show the other side of the town, where the majority come together to do something positive.
“Parking is free as is entry, so it’s an opportunity to support the community and do some Christmas shopping.”
The event is on inside the church from 10am to 4pm on both Saturday and Sunday, October 31 and November 1.
