LETTERS – Why are homes a benefit?

Are the long term residents of South Holland aware that SHDC planning department has a charter that states: “If we have got it wrong we will put it right”?
So the far away planning officers, many of whom hold interim positions and don’t live in our district, again make swashbuckling decisions regarding our town and area again!
IE: Re the Horseshoe Rd Development statement: The SHDC planning officer said the benefits of development outweigh the potential harm and concluded the applicant should be allowed to get away without contributions.
A typical case of ‘not in my back yard’. Where is this a benefit to Spalding?
This is a similar situation to what has happened to Weston in the last two or three years and possibly other developments in the Spalding area.
So I ask, as they did with myself and residents of Weston, when they made a mistake, admitted it, but reneged on the charter.
It’s disgraceful that these officers actually work for us and we pay their wages.
