A manager at the heart of a charity’s efforts in Holbeach has won a prestigious award.
Sam Collins, the manager of Tonic Health’s Holbeach Hub, has been officially presented with a Make A Difference award as handed out by BBC Radio Lincolnshire.
The Hub hosts a vast array of groups and sessions that aim to provide help in the community.
Sam was nominated by Serena Watts whose ten-year-old grandson Danny has severe ADHD.
The awards were held recently at the International Bomber Command Centre in Lincoln.
Sam said: “It was such a heartwarming day to be around so many amazing groups and people that were in the nominations.
“Just to get to the top four in the Community Group award was an amazing opportunity for the hub.
“Winning the award just goes to show that all of the hard work, dedication and commitment pays of and, the community really appreciates it.
“I couldn’t do this without all the team that helps to keep everything running how it should to serve the community of Holbeach and the South Lincs rural villages.”
Serena had previously said of Sam: “Sam makes Danny feel special, and this little boy who was scared to be away from my side began to look forward to attending Tonic Health and later youth club.
“Sam genuinely cares about the local community and dedicates a lot of his time thinking about and planning activities to meet those with varying needs.
“He is one in a million and I’m so grateful for the difference he has made to Danny and other vulnerable people in our local community.”
