Clash with Tulips is highlight of Holbeach United’s pre-season schedule

Fans of Holbeach United will welcome news that the Tigers will play Spalding United in a pre-season fixture.

Rivalries will be rekindled at the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field on Saturday, July 25 (3pm).

The sides last played each other in the 2013/14 season when the Tulips won the United Counties League Premier Division title. Pat Rayment’s side won 5-0 and 2-0 in the league fixtures, and also ended the Tigers’ two-year tenure on the Lincolnshire FA Senior Trophy with a 2-1 win at Carter’s Park.

The Spalding clash is the highlight of the Tigers’ pre-season line-up. Darren Jarvis’s side finish by hosting the Tulips’ league colleagues Lincoln United on August 1.
