A pair of podiums for Pulling

Gosberton race ace Abbi Pulling swept to two podium placings at Donington Park to help her Rodin Motorsports team to the top of the GB3 Championship standings with two weekends to go.

It came as relief for the 23-year-old after a poor season by her standards.

Third places in the first and third races brought a smile of relief to her face and she said: “This season has been a bit of a disaster with so many DNFs (did not finishes).

“I’m trying to turn it around at the end of the year and this is a good step in the right direction. It shows what I am capable of and what I can do.

“I was leading (in the third race) so it’s something to pick myself up on. Considering the year we’ve had, it’s a very positive weekend.”

The first race saw Pulling steer clear of a wheel-to-wheel battle between leading pair Deagen Fairclough and Nikita Bedrin to take third place after a combative first lap.

She was ninth in the second race but was back towards the front in the final race, leading for a brief spell.

She finished 1.225secs behind the winner in third place again and ended the weekend with a season’s best 54-point haul to move up to eighth place in the overall standings with 196 points.

Rodin took over at the top of the teams standings, three points clear of VRD Racing, after a combined haul of 116 points from Pulling and teammates Martin Molnar and Max Rehm

The next three rounds are at Brands Hatch on September 26-27, with the final rounds in Barcelona on November 7-8.
