Those behind a charity’s former Spalding hospice have got together to reminisce.
St Barnabas Day Centre also known as Jenny Freeman Lodge, provided end of life care and support but didn’t reopen following the COVID-19 lockdowns.
The charity now has a base in the area at the Johnson Hospital instead.
Recently, a former volunteer June Wright organised a get-together at Spalding Golf Club for various people who were regular faces at the Wygate Park centre which has since been turned into a home.
June said: “A lovely lunch was enjoyed by all and it was lovely to meet up with friends that we had not seen for years.
“Everyone had a laugh about the memories and old photos.
“Although the day centre and Jenny Freeman Lodge was a hospice it was such a happy place for patients with life threatening illnesses to attend.”
