LETTERS – Try talking to council offices!

Referring to Sue Mason, Voice August 13.

Unfortunately, she isn’t alone in trying to speak to a member of any council in Lincolnshire.

We’ve tried innumerable times to get in touch with named staff at South Holland District Council, only to be told; ‘they’re not available’ or ‘they can email the concerned party to call you back’. Which they never do.

Or unable to tell you if the person required is even in today!

On one occasion we actually had rung the SHDC main number.

Spoke to a receptionist stating that she was, in fact in the fact, in Louth council office and she had no idea where we were referring to (Castle sports centre).

What does our future hold with the new Unitary Authorities when you cannot speak or get through to anyone now?

And if by a miracle you can actually leave a message, nothing is furthered.

The staff seem to shy away from dealing with any problems.

This is a detriment, not an improvement on council services.
