Spalding Water Polo club recently took part in an international tournament in the Netherlands.
The club is very proud to be one of only two UK teams – the other one being Warwick – invited to take part in the Moby Dick tournament, one of the largest outdoor water polo tournaments in Europe.
The tournament takes place annually on the first weekend of July and consists of over 130 teams and 1,500 players.
Club spokesman Mark Le Sage said: “It’s an absolute privilege for the Spalding club to be invited to take part and an honour to represent South Holland, Lincolnshire and the UK at such a prestigious event which is now in its 45th year.”
Spalding travelled with two teams who played in separate leagues played in a lake divided into nine pitches with games being played from 8am on Saturday and Sunday.
Both teams finished mid-table.
It was also good training for the Jack Carpenter Memorial Cup which was held at the Bourne Outdoor Pool last Saturday.
