South Holland and the Deepings MP Sir John Hayes recently attended a Parliamentary event where he met representatives from Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance team and learnt more about their vital work.
Sir John spoke with members about the lifesaving emergency care they provide 24 hours a day. Since then, he has asked a question in Parliament about what the government is doing to ensure that all major trauma centres and specialist hospitals in Lincolnshire have on site helipad access.
Sir John said: “Our air ambulance crews provide an invaluable service that saves lives, often in the most challenging of circumstances.
“The necessity of an air ambulance service in Lincolnshire, if ever in doubt, was affirmed following the bank holiday weekend where they attended nearly 300 per cent more emergencies than usual.”
