Ton-up Sydney is in top 10

Sydney Barfield celebrated her 100th parkrun with a time of 23 minutes and four seconds for a top 10 finish on her first visit to Snowden Field in Crowland on Saturday.

She was among 85 finishers at the weekly 5K event, but was a great distance short of some of her fellow runners, joggers and walkers in the overall mileage stakes.

Crowland regular David Anderson was completing his 250th run, while James Harrison has an impressive 579 parkruns to his name – or almost 1,800 miles since his first parkrun in June 2011.

First across the line was Peterborough & Nene Valley AC runner Ryan Anderson, in 19 minutes and 41 seconds, with Rebecca Lee crossing first for the women in 22:51, five places later.

The first Halmer Harrier to get over the finish line was Richard Williams, who was seventh in 22:52.

Four members of the Spalding-based running club went continental, with Siân Brown, Lisa Gill, Martin Wallis and Karen Wallis taking on Zuiderpark in Den Haag in the Netherlands.
