Last week brought the final round of fixtures in the Crowson Volkswagen Pinchbeck & District Winter Darts League, with both division titles still up for grabs.
In Division A the top-of-the-table clash between Lincoln Arms A and the Royal Mail Cart proved decisive, with the Lincoln side taking the title after a 6-3 victory.
The Mail Cart carried a 2-1 lead from the pairs and extended it when the ever-reliable Jason Vines, unbeaten all season, beat Paul Blow 2-0.
That, however, was as far as their challenge went. Sam Roberts, Steve Stancer, Si Hill, Dean Murray and John Charlton swept the final five singles to secure the championship for the Lincoln Arms A.
At the foot of the table, Drayman’s Arms finally claimed their first win of the season with a surprise 5-4 success away at third-placed Consti Club C.
Keiran Twitchen, Jason Chilvers, Kev Newton and Phil Newton all won their singles, with Chilvers producing a superb 17-dart leg featuring a 177 in his 2-0 win over Harry Faulkner.
Pinchbeck FC B ended their campaign in style with an emphatic 8-1 home win over Consti Club B.
Chris Howling and Darren Lawes took the opening pairs for the visitors, but the Football Club dominated from there, winning the remaining eight games without dropping a leg.
Green Dragon A rounded off their up and down season with a 6-3 away win at Lincoln Arms D.
Scott Williams, Shayne Hubbard and Jon Goor sealed the result by taking the final three singles.
Services Club B finished with a 5-4 away win at the Black Bull after racing into an unassailable 5-0 lead.
The Bull fought back strongly, reeling off the last four singles, but the early deficit proved too much to overturn.
With everything still to play for, longtime leaders Kirton Leisure held their nerve to clinch the Division B title with a 6-3 away win at Green Dragon Z.
Singles victories for Mark Ledger, Craig Spiller, Josh Smith and Ashley Brown secured the points, while Dean Peacock hit a 180 for the Dragon.
Runners up Consti Club Z edged out the Pied Calf 5-4.
Mick Atkin fired in a 180 in the pairs for the Consti, and he and John Harris won the final two singles to complete the comeback.
Bottom side Consti Club A ended their season on a high with a 5-4 derby win over Consti Club D.
Trailing 4-2, they turned the match around with singles wins from Merv Pattinson, Kev Bailey and Chris Mumby.
Green Dragon C also signed off with a 5-4 home win, this time against Lincoln Arms C.
Adam Rear and Tom Overton took the last two singles to secure the result, while Nigel Goodwin produced a 106 checkout for the Lincoln side.
Pinchbeck FC C wrapped up their season with a 6-3 away win at Services Club A.
Singles victories for Josh Burton, Emma Tickner and Alun Austen put them 6-1 ahead before Steve Booden and Sarah O’Driscoll claimed the final two games for the Services.
