A businessman and incoming mayor has been appointed the new chair of trustees at a South Holland charity.
Barrie Pierpoint, set to be mayor of Boston, is to take the position at Tonic Health.
A business and management consultant who has been the chief executive of Leicester City, Notts County and Portsmouth football clubs, he joins the charity with it set to celebrates its tenth anniversary.
A spokesman said: “Barrie brings a wealth of business acumen, strategic leadership, and deep-rooted community experience to the organisation.
“His appointment will strengthen governance and provide vital support to founder and CEO Michael Morris and the Board of Trustees as Tonic Health continues to expand its reach and services across South Holland and Boston.
“As the charity approaches its tenth anniversary in 2026, the appointment signals a clear commitment to long-term sustainability, service development, and community impact.”
Mr Morris said: “Barrie’s appointment comes at a pivotal time for Tonic Health.
“His experience, credibility, and understanding of both business and community infrastructure will be invaluable as we move into our next phase of growth.
“We are delighted to welcome him as chair and look forward to working together.”
