Shock at death of Holbeach businessman Bryan Thompson

Shock has been expressed at the untimely death of Holbeach businessman Bryan Thompson at the age of 64.

He established a successful windows and conservatories business in his name.

It began in his garage 28 years ago before having a first base in Battlefields Lane, later moving to its current premises in Boston Road South. It has nine employees.

Son Ashley – a fellow director in the firm along with Bryan’s wife Lynda – said his dad’s sudden death on Tuesday, April 28, following a heart attack was a shock to the family.

Ashley said: “He had had [health] problems in the past, but nothing to suggest anything like this might happen.”

He added: “I don’t think he would have ever retired from the business.

“He was pretty much winding down, but he still came in every day, doing a few appointments.”

Mr Thompson was a former chairman of Holbeach United Football Club.

Ex-Tigers boss Dick Creasey said: “He’s always been a gent. He was kind-hearted and will be really sadly missed.”

The funeral service is at All Saints’ Church in Holbeach on Tuesday (May 11) at 11am.
