Sutton Bridge PlayZone plan granted planning permission

Sutton Bridge looks set to net a new PlayZone after planning permission was approved.

It will be built at Sutton Bridge Memorial Park near to The Curlew Centre after a grant from The Football Foundation charity.

The gated and flootlit court will be able to host small sided football, basketball and netball.

Planning officers have passed the application using delegated power.

Sutton Bridge Parish Council said: “This development will provide a safe, inclusive, and accessible space for residents of all ages, characteristics and abilities to enjoy physical activity, social interaction, and community
engagement.

“It will encourage healthier lifestyles, and enhance the overall appeal of the park as a central hub for recreation.”

Sport England supported the application too stating: “This location would provide sufficient benefits to sport for the community, and its proposed siting would not affect the quantity or quality of playing pitches at the site or otherwise adversely affect their use.”
