Spalding cheerleaders have been given a boost as they look to raise enough money to take part in a competition in Portugal.
Empire Elite Allstars is looking to send its under 16s team to the ICONS competition in June, the first of an end of season competition for some of the best in Europe.
Developer Allison Homes Central, which is building the Chapel Gate development in Moulton Chapel, has stepped in to donate £500.
Nikita Capes, director at Empire Elite Allstars, said: “The team of 21 girls aged 11 – 16 have already been working hard since August, learning their new complex routine in preparation for six UK competitions before their main competition in June 2026.
“Whilst working hard in the gym, the girls are also busy fundraising to support the financial costs of the trip and are extremely grateful to Allison Homes for their donation and collaboration.”
“As a new but growing club, it’s fantastic that our coaches’ and athletes’ efforts and talents are
already earning them bids to further UK and international opportunities. At Empire, we strive for
Allstar Cheerleading and Dance to support and teach young people a wide range of transferable
skills such as teamwork, communication, commitment and resilience — skills that will benefit them
both within the sport and in their everyday lives.
“Our international team, ICONS, have a routine this season themed around being ‘Iconic’, which
celebrates individuality and promotes self-confidence. Through this theme, the athletes are
encouraged to embrace their unique strengths, perform with pride, and continue building
confidence both on and off the competition floor.”
To mark the donation, Allison Homes Central’s Dan Bursnall, senior regional marketing manager,
visited Empire Elite Allstars at its gym in Spalding to meet the team and watch them perform.
Dan said: “It was wonderful to visit Empire Elite Allstars and watch their routine. The athletes were incredible and it was truly inspiring to see them so passionate about their sport. We are so excited to keep up to date with their progress in the run-up to the European Summit and wish them the best of luck.”
Kelly Toms, sales and marketing director at Allison Homes Central, added: “We are very excited to have donated to Empire Elite Allstars and to be bringing our support to the vibrant world of cheerleading.
“Community-led sports groups like Empire are so important for local children, allowing them to improve their wellbeing, socialise with peers and discover new skills and hobbies. The cheerleaders here are all fantastic and we look forward to cheering them on next June.”
