Joshua Bodibie was the sole goalscorer for Holbeach United as they lost 2-1 at AFC Sudbury Reserves in the Thurlow Nunn Division One North.
In a very even contest a young Sudbury academy side were very fluid with their passing but the youthful Holbeach team were a constant threat throughout.
It was Sudbury though who drew first blood with a well worked goal finished off by Samuel Cox.
Holbeach stuck to their guns and were playing some excellent football.
They got their reward after winning a corner from which full back Bodibie rose highest to power a clean header into the top corner.
In the second half the game was end-to-end with both sides having chances.
It was the home side Sudbury that got the deciding goal, Rocco Leeks benefitting from after a mix up between two Holbeach defenders and the goalie.
As they dallied, Leeks slipped in for a simple tap in.
In the dying moments the Tigers thought they’d snatched a point from another corner but a brilliant save from the Sudbury keeper denied them.
There was a debut during the game for Maximus Klebahs.
The graduate from the Holbeach United Academy came on during the second half.
