Bus fares around centre of Spalding to be capped at £1.50

Bus fares in Spalding are to be capped at £1.50 a ticket from Monday.

Lincolnshire County Council has announced the measure will last at least until March 2027.

It follows funding provided by central government and its s Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP).

Spalding is one of five towns to get the fare caps. The services it will be available on are Brylaine B3/B3X, Brylaine B9, Stagecoach East Midlands IT1/IT2, 505, Black Cat B13 from within the map below.

Mike Reed, head of transport at Lincolnshire County Council said: “This low fare will help both regular bus users and occasional travellers looking for a stress-free transport option for Christmas shopping, or a relaxed meal with friends and family.  

“It will continue throughout 2026 and beyond as part of Lincolnshire County Council’s commitment to providing value for money fares for everyone across the county.” 

  • This article has been edited. The initial release from the county council said the the fare would apply for ‘trips into Spalding’. However, following a clarification, the council say it only covers the area pictured below.
