Appeal after man was punched trying to help detain a shoplifter

Police are trying to locate a man who was punched while trying to help detain a shoplifter.

The incident happened around 12.30pm on Sunday, November 16 at B&M on Westlode Street Spalding.

Today, (Wednesday, December 3) police have issued an appeal for the assaulted man to come forward.

A spokesman said: “We are appealing for help to identify the victim of an assault which happened on Sunday 16 November in the Spalding area.

“We received reports of an ongoing theft at B&M on Westlode Street at approximately 12.30pm. The male victim was trying to help detain a shoplifter when he was assaulted.

“We would like to speak to this man as a witness to help progress our inquiries. If you are that man, or if you know who he may be, please get in touch.
