Levy-age to get you to concert

Get the Christmas celebrations started this year with the Ukulele Orchestra of Spalding.

Its Christmas Concert is taking place on Saturday, December 6, at 7pm and members are hoping to have a special guest after featuring on TV recently.

The group sent BBC Look North Presenter Peter Levy a mug recently and after he gave them a shout out.

The concert at Broad Street Methodist Church will also see an appearance from Pavanotti (aka Jeff Woods) and be in aid of The Gateway Club, Little Miracles Holbeach and Macmillan.

Chair of the Orchestra, Dee Inman-Fong, says: “We’re really looking forward to a fun, musical Christmassy evening which will include great songs, sing-a-long favourites, great fun and an opportunity to support three local good causes.

“We enjoy watching BBC Look North where Peter has a ‘Mug’ spot so we sent him one of ours!

“We invited him to be Guest of Honour on December 6.

“He’s a busy man but it would be wonderful if he honoured us with his presence.

“He’ll be assured of a great evening’s entertainment, lovely food and drinks, a raffle and an auction of the world’s biggest and cutest caterpillar!

“We hope he and lots of other people can come along.”

Tickets costing £7.50 are available from 07981 910154.
