Village group raises thousands

A group set up to put on events in a village has handed out thousands of pounds to local charity.

Moulton Celebration Committee’s calendar has this year put on events including the Moulton Harvest Weekend and VE Day celebration.

Any surplus funds are donated to charity.

That meant £3,500 was given this year between Moulton Community Association, Moulton Park Committee, Moulton Windmill Project, 1st Moulton and Whaplode Scouts, the All Inclusive Music Project (AIMP) and Spalding and District Young Farmers.

In the four years it has operated it takes the total money raised for charity to £9,000.

A spokesman said: “The committee are really pleased to distribute the funds to village organisations and supporters of the event and we would like to thank everyone for supporting us again.

“We are planning on having the Moulton Harvest Weekend again next year the date has already been planned for Saturday and Sunday September 12 and 13.

“Please follow the Moulton Celebration Committee Facebook page for more details.”
