Get your Pride nominations in!

Time is running out and all the nominations for the Spalding Pride of South Holland Awards need to be sent in by the end of the month.

Organiser and chair of South Holland District Council Jan Whitbourn is encouraging everyone to send in nominations across a variety of categories.
The Young Achiever section is sponsored by Spalding’s Molsom & Associates – as it has done since the awards started.
More nominations are needed for the category in particular, and there are young people out there who deserve recognition for what they do, said Jan.
“Young people are important to Andy Molsom and his team, the staff have been visiting schools educating children and teachers about eyesight – latterly with the help of MolsomMole – who is also a welcome visitor to the Pride Awards evening.
“Sponsoring the Young Achiever category is the perfect opportunity to broadcast what young people are striving for locally, to benefit themselves and others.
“I feel it is important to recognise and celebrate their hard work and achievements and to help others realise what is possible,” said optometrist Andy Molsom.
It would also be great to have a few more nominations in the Community Sports Group – there is always someone in local sport who goes the extra mile and deserves public recognition.
Categories for the 2025 awards are:
Caring Neighbour, Service with a Smile, Young Achiever, Senior Citizen, Charity Worker, Community Hero, Volunteer of the Year, Special Achievement, Community Sports Group and Local Charity Champion.
Everyone who is nominated will be invited to a special ceremony at the South Holland Centre where each category winner will be announced.
There will also be a very special guest or two – last year actress Vicki Michelle, of ‘Allo ‘Allo fame, and Peterborough United’s legend Barry Fry were welcomed.
The Spalding Rock Choir, Diamondz Dance and singer Gabriella Pineda-Rodrigues all helped bring some glitz to the event.
Nomination forms for this year can be requested from Jan by email at: [email protected] or phone 07779 895388.
The deadline this year is October 31.
