Homes are passed for a second time

A bid to build three homes in Crowland has been passed for a second time.
The application for Blackbird Close came before South Holland District Council’s Planning Committee last week despite it already having been approved at its previous monthly meeting.
Committee chair James Avery said it had come back before the committee because ‘things went ever so slightly pear-shaped’ at the last meeting, without saying what the issue was.
It had previously been before councillors in April when it was deferred.
Planners found changes made to be acceptable so passed it at its September meeting and unanimously did the same at the October gathering.
Coun Bryan Alcock raised issues he still had including trees being planted to an existing wall.
But he also said: “The changes are welcome and made it more acceptable.”
