Storm Amy couldn’t stop this year’s Pumpkin Festival.
With a weather warning in place for wind last Saturday, the decision was taken for a ‘scaled down’ event held in and around Ayscoughfee Hall and its court yard.
It proved to be a huge hit, especially with so many getting into the spirit of fancy dress.
Spalding store holders also did their part, decorating shop windows as part of the annual competition.
This year’s winner was Wicked Temper in The Crescent with Flowers ‘n’ Things and Cozy Carpets both highly commended.
A spokesman for the South Holland District Councils communities team, who organised the event, said: “We were so determined not to cancel this much-loved annual event, and with the support from Ayscoughfee Hall Museum and Gardens team and South Lincs Security Ltd, we were able to bring some of the activities and entertainment to our residents.
“Thank you for being understanding and patient as we navigated bringing an outdoor town centre event into an indoor venue.
“Thank you to all the entertainers, charities and community groups, pumpkin sculpture creators, security, medical, tech team and staff. You were amazing!”
