Harvest supper in aid of church

An annual supper to celebrate the harvest helped fill attendees and charity coffers.

Weston Hills Harvest Supper raised £686 recently for the village church.

This year around 50 people attended the annual gathering where villagers put on a spread of goods including baked potatoes, meat salads, apple pies and quiches as well as cheese and biscuits.

There was also numerous produce from local fields on offer, along with a fundraising raffle.

“It went very well and everyone had a good night,” said church warden Christine Woolsey.

The next event being put on as a fundraiser for St John the Evangelist Church is Christmas Table Top sale in the village hall from 10am to 1pm on November 22.
