Successful Gamebird competition raises cash

During September, Tydd St Giles Golf Club’s ladies’ captain Maria Taylor-Vassall hosted the annual Game Bird open competition.

Taylor-Vassall was pleased to announce on the day that the competition raised £1,141 for her chosen charity, Dementia UK,

The winning pair were Deborah Ellis and Bev Harpham from Burleigh Park Golf Club, scoring an impressive 42 points on countback.

In second place, with 42 points, were Andrea Stockton and Amanda Cook, from Gedney Hill Golf Club, while in third place with 35 points were Maggie Clarkson and Sally-Ann Goodale, from King’s Lynn Golf Club.

Nearest the pin in two (18th hole) – Ronnie Thorogood, of Kirton Holme Golf Club. Joy Ringer Hidden Holes – Sheila Brightwell and Helen Howe, of Dereham Golf Club.

Taylor-Vassall thanked all for taking part in a spirited round of golf.

Competitors enjoyed a traditional afternoon tea-style halfway house and meal in the clubhouse to round off the event.
