Jan’s help for Spalding charities

The chair of South Holland District Council has chosen the charities she is supporting during her year of office.
All three are local and within the district and Coun Jan Whitbourn said that it was important to support local initiatives which help residents in a myriad of ways.
“I feel very lucky to hold this position and to be working among so many wonderful people. I hope for the remainder of my term I can help as much as possible, whether that is through attending events, fundraising or promoting our wonderful community,” she said.
Her charities for the year are Spalding Lions, Spalding Round Table and Project St Thomas.
“Having worked in the local community for over 25 years, running the local radio station and working with local schools, I know how important it is to have funds to keep these local initiatives going to support our residents,” she said.
Both the town’s Lions and Round Table work locally to support small organisations, including Johnson Hospital.
Project St Thomas is a pastoral initiative holding regular events.
