Top results for Spalding Grammar students

Spalding Grammar school students were left celebrating some fantastic A-Level results.

Many subjects achieved more than half of their grades at A*-C, the highest grades possible.

These include biology (79 per cent), business studies (83 per cent), chemistry (78 per cent), economics (74 per cent), engineering (100 per cent), further mathematics (94 per cent), geography (80 per cent), history (91 per cent), PE (75%), sociology (72 per cent) and technology (100 per cent).

More than 350 qualifications were taken by the sixth form this summer and their results are testament to their commitment and hard work alongside the support of their parents and carers and the dedication of our experienced staff.

Spalding Grammar and Spalding High co-teach several A Level subjects, and they too were incredibly successful this year, with 100 per cent of students achieving A*-C grades in French and music and 75 per cent of students achieving the same in English literature.

  • Emmanuel Boateng 3 A Levels at A/B who is planning to study Economics Samuel Grundy 3 A Levels at A/B who is planning to study Mechanical Engineering
  • Harry Hicks 3 A Levels at A/B who is planning to study Aeronautical Engineering Joshua Lijesh 3 A Levels at A who is planning to study Dentistry.

Ben Futter is leaving the Grammar School to study Theology at Oxford University while a further 48 students, 42 per cent of the cohort achieved all A* – C grades in three or four A Level subjects.

Executive headteacher Michele Anderson, said: “We are so proud of our Year 13 students who have worked tremendously hard on their sixth form studies over the last two years and achieved some tremendous results that are not only a measure of academic performance but also a reflection of the hard work, resilience, and positive mindset our students have shown.

“Each one of them should be immensely proud of what they’ve accomplished.

“Our students are all progressing on to a number of new opportunities including work, gap years and degree apprenticeships in engineering, accountancy and finance, gap years and for the majority, university.

“Happily, the very great majority have secured places at their first preference university to study a variety of disciplines such as: primary education, architecture, law, engineering, computer science, urban planning, medicine biomedical science, sports science and MFL & International Relations in Paris!

“We wish all our students the very best of luck and every success in the future. We would like to thank them for helping to make Spalding Grammar School the special place that it is.”
