Former champion Wallis wins

Damp and blustery conditions greeted the ten riders from Spalding Cycling Club who took on this week’s ten-mile time trial on the Barrier Bank course.

It was former club champion Josh Wallis (pictured right), back out for a rare outing but on his dad’s bike, who took the win with a time of 20:18, which was enough to beat current club champion Dom Brand by 57 seconds (21:15).

Brand in turn led home Chris Ward who is showing late season form with a time of 22:05.

Chris Cooper had a strong debut individual ride finishing sixth (24:27) just behind Gareth Richards in fifth (24:27).

Young gun Jacob Booth took the win in the road bike category with a very quick time of 25:34, enough for seventh overall, and Evgeniya Brand continued her total domination of the women’s category finishing ninth overall in a time of 26:32.
